Who should set up their home on Splitkaro?
Anyone with shared recurring monthly bills should set up their home on Splitkaro.
What are the benefits of configuring my monthly bills on Splitkaro?
1. Timely payments, thanks to automated reminders for due bills 2. No debt records — each member pays their own share before the due date 3. No late fees
How can I set up my rent bill?
1. On the home page, tap the “Set up your home” banner 2. Create a group of type “Home” 3. Under “Set up recurring bills”, select “Rent” 4. Enter the rent details — amount, due date, repeat frequency, and split type 5. Enter the landlord’s details — name, mobile number, bank or UPI details 6. Tap “Save” The rent bill is generated 5 days before the due date, every month.
What types of bills can be configured?
You can configure rent, cook, and househelp bills. Electricity, water, and other utility bills are coming soon.
How can I configure my cook or househelp bills?
Same steps as the rent bill: 1. Inside a “Home” group, under “Set up recurring bills”, select “Cook” or “Househelp” 2. Enter the bill details — amount, due date, repeat frequency, and split type 3. Enter the cook’s or househelp’s account details — name, mobile number, bank or UPI details 4. Tap “Save” Bills are generated 5 days before the due date.
What happens when I configure a recurring bill inside a Home group?
1. Every month, 5 days before the due date, a bill is generated as configured 2. Everyone involved gets notifications to settle it 3. Reminders keep going out until the due date to anyone who hasn’t paid their share 4. Once everyone has paid, the collected amount is sent to the beneficiary’s account
How is a home-setup instant bill settled?
When all payees have paid their share, the total amount is transferred to the beneficiary’s UPI ID or bank account.
How can I pay my share of a home-setup bill?
You can pay your share of the bill using UPI or a credit card.
How can my friend pay their share if they are not on Splitkaro?
1. Under “Home bills”, tap the bill you want them to pay 2. Tap “Share” and send the bill link on WhatsApp or any other app 3. Your friend opens the link in a browser and pays their share via UPI or credit card using the “Pay” button
Can I pay my friend’s share of the bill?
1. Under “Bills”, tap the bill you wish to pay for 2. Under “Who will pay”, select the checkbox next to your friend’s name and pay
What happens when my friends don’t pay their share and the bill is overdue?
1. If the bill is overdue, a late fee may be incurred where applicable (electricity, for example) 2. If you have already paid the bill from another source, you can delete that bill on Splitkaro
What happens if a bill is partially paid and overdue?
1. If someone has already paid part of the bill, it can’t be deleted — contact support@splitkaro.com if you need to 2. Anyone can pay anyone else’s share to clear the bill
Where can I see the history of my home-setup bills?
1. Open your “Home” group 2. Under “Your recurring bills”, tap the bill you want the history of 3. You’ll find the bill’s configuration along with its full history
